Hi. Welcome.
I’m Kristen House. I’m a writer, an educator, and the Chief Executive Muse at A Novel Idea.
I spend my days teaching people how to unearth the stories buried deep within them and creating supportive communities of writers. My twin passions are people and words, and I’m blessed to be able to marry both in my work.
This blog is devoted to issues that arise while teaching and current debates about eduction, technology, and the use of writing in the classroom.

Debate, discussion, and constructive criticism are welcome.
When not writing, teaching about writing, or writing about teaching, you might find me reading Southern Fiction, chasing my boys, Holden and Shephard, or begging my husband, Andrew House, to make another film for me. I also make a mean meringue pie.
